I think you have misunderstood, not egr unplugged.
It needs physically blanking off with a blanking plate off ebay or similar(incase you like it and keep it in only a couple of quid for a plate)
An egr not fully closing will bleed boost same as a split boost hose you just wont find it.
And then when off boost or part throttle it may be letting burnt gasses back in and bypassing maf so injecting less fuel potentially.
Map sensors right by egr 5 mins to remove spray with carb cleaner and refit, i do mine probably twice a year as a routine.
Also while youre checking out air filter have a good look at the turbo inlet hose for holes or splits between turbo and maf for leaks, and the breather hose where it joins and especially the vapour trap under the airfilter box, a few stilos have had them break off leaving unfiltered air bypassing the maf.
