Wonder if anyone can help?!
My stilo has a intermittent fault right hand rear indicator I have changed the bulb but still keeps coming up on dash when driving stays up for a few seconds then goes off what could be the problem please

Do you have a towbar? Check that someone hasnt done a dodgy splice job for the towbar electrics and nearly split the wire.

Generally inspect the wiring at the light cluster for damage, towbar or not.

U cud also leave the bulb holder out with the indicator flashing and wiggle the bulb, see if it goes off. Check the contacts are clean enough, give them a scrape with a wee screwdriver and make sure the bulb is a good fit and earthing properly in the socket

If none of that works, unclip the bulb holders from the other side and switch them over. See if the problem becomes the other side. If it does its the bulb or holder, if not its a wiring issue. Maybe start with that if no obvious problems visible.

Got exactly the same problem some months ago, took the bulbholder out, disconnected the wires, cleaned the contacts and the whole lot. Connected the wires again and slided the bulbholder in place. After that the problem was solved.

From another thread.

Remove the rear clusters and separate the plugs. Clean the contacts.
Look here https://www.fiatforum.com/stilo/32564...-contacts.html

or use following technique
Use Cotton buds
-metal polish
-clean off with contact cleaner
-use dielectric grease to prevent further corrosion

I would not recommend something highly abrasive

The rear light clusters are held in by three nuts which are accessible by pulling back the trim at either side of the boot. Once the nuts are off you can pull the cluster out, the light-bulbs are housed on the rear of the cluster, there is a panel on the back of the cluster that's clipped on, once it's off you can see the bulbs and you can then remove them to inspect the connections for them.

Hi I have a stilo abarth every time I applied brake had rear indicator then rear brake light failure just had look in boot contact metal on housing had slight corrosion and on the car connecter the earth had opened up so not good connection slightly bent connecter down now ok.

I think the canbus wiring can be quite clever in that if a brake light fails itll light up the indicator instead. So clean up the contacts of the brake light and make sure its making a good connection. Ive had bulbs before that were intermittent as well and a new bulb solved it.
