had the turbo fail so replaced both turbo and inter-cooler this week now when i drive i have not much power feels like the turbo is not always working and from the back there is a lot of black smoke have i not done something when replacing the turbo i will check all the connections tonight to make sure everything is tight but just wanted to know if there is something that would cause this

Black smoke usually indicates excess fuel not properly burnt. This may also give the symptoms of turbo not working as the power will be less than expected.

Engine needs to measure turbo boost to determine correct fuelling, usually with a pressure sensor. Check any connections to the sensor. Also check for any air leaks, especially between turbo and engine as it would appear that the measured boost is not all getting to the engine.

need some more help everything seems to be working fine but the EML light is still on i did a battery off for over 1 hour to try and clear it be it does not want to go. does anyone in the either the Leeds or Goole area have a scanner that can clear the codes and see if there is anything else been reported.

well this is really starting to get to me now i have been through everything and all is working but the light will not go out and if i t try and drive the car above 3000rpm limp mode kicks in if i keep it under that the car drives great no loss of mpg could it be the MAF or EGR valve now playing up

lack of power

I have a stilo 1.9jtd and last week changed the turbo and inter cooler as they had both failed but now the car will not rev passed 3K have had the fault codes reader on it adn got a p0101 which is MAF so unplugged it and car was back to normal rev all the way to the red i have cleaned but made no change is there anything else i can check to be 100% sure i need a new MAF
