I'm planning on replacing my front springs and shocks soon (the rear will follow shortly after), as I'm getting a very wallowy ride, and the car sits slightly down on one side when looking from the front.
The car has done 86k miles, on an 03 plate.
(1.6, 3 door)

I don't want to lower the car at all, but I don't really want to get Fiat originals as they don't seem to last that long, looking at other posts on here.

The only real option seems to be KYB K Flex - now my question is; it says for the 1.6 Stilo Hatchback (RH2619 is the model of them), but doesn't say 3 or 5 door.
Do the 3 door and 5 door use the same springs?

Also, I will get the shocks replaced at the same time. I've seen the Bilstein B4 for the Stilo, which are OE spec.

Any obvious issues with doing this?

For that car you can get an Anscler Coil Spring for £21 on carparts4less and it is very reliable , gf has the same stilo as you and has done 40k on that spring with no problems at all

Thanks, I've looked it up and found those. They are a bit cheaper than the KYB (only about a tenner or so less for a pair), but looking on google, most forums suggest that the KYBs are the better ones to go for.

afaik all the springs are the same APART from the 2.4s and the JTDs

im looking at a set of fronts and am toying with the idea of throwing the JTDs on as they have a different preload and im assuming spring rates. but what i dont want to do is completely screw the handling up.

can anyone confirm if the JTDs springs would cause any adverse effects on the front of my 1.6

(sorry i dont mean to hijack the thread but it saves me starting a new one on the same topic)

As the diesel engine weighs more than your petrol 1.6, the car will sit higher than it should at the front.

To update this thread... I finally got it done.

However, it turns out that my car was lowered before

My car is higher now, but on the plus side the handling is transformed!

It's funny that - I discovered exactly the same myself (I was the one who put the lowering springs on :doh

Lowering a car will generally degrade the handling :bang:

I've got KYB's on mine and it's fine
