Could possibly be the pedal?

I'm not all clued up on clutches but there could be any number of things causing it. When was the last time the clutch and fluid was changed? Was the release bearing changed at this point as well? Could be the master cylinder on its way out or even something internal like the release mechanism in the gearbox. When you say the bite is ok, do you mean the clutch has a good bite and biting point - the biting point hasn't come up at all has it?

It's the original clutch (9 years old, 120k).

When I say bite is fine is basically all working as before, but heavier than normal.

I normally drive an auto, been using it for 3 weeks while sister (who's car it now is) and all seemed ok, had a Mito for a day when the Bravo was being serviced and that was nice and light.

Moved the Stilo the other day and feels heavy, not sure if I'm comparing it with the 4 year old 15k miles Mito though.

Sister has returned from a month in America, and I mentioned does it feel heavier and she said yes.

I'm thinking master cylinder maybe also? Is there anyway to confirm this?

Over due a fluid change to clutch and brakes tbh so will get this done soon.

Your clutch has lasted you very well! If the biting point is still good/ not moved and it's not slipping then I guess you can rule it out at this point.

It'll be worthwhile giving the hydraulic system a full bleed to see if that helps, especially if it's long overdue. After that it'll be down to the mechanicals of the clutch system - starting with the master cylinder - I'm not sure myself how this can be checked that its working properly but perhaps if you take it to a garage to bleed the hydraulics then they can inspect it while they're at it?

It certainly isn't doing to badly, although even better still is the old dears 12 year old Yaris, 177k and still the original clutch :)

Ill give it all a bleed myself and see how that goes, will probably just leave it once done and see if it gets worse, I'm not ones to start changing things on the off chance. Lol.

Check the pushrod that comes out of the slave cylinder. This is the bit that actually does the work of disengaging the clutch and it should be well greased at its far end (the end furthest away from the slave cylinder). It's easy to get at. If it is not greased it could end up snapping in half.

As you've alluded to it's probably you just getting used to the other car.

I usually drive an auto but my wife's car is a manual Mini which I drive now and again.

When I first bought the Stilo the clutch felt very heavy and imprecise but after driving it quite a bit it doesn't feel too bad now, ideally could be lighter though. But when I drive the Mini it feels really weird now and have to do a few miles before I get used to the feel of the clutch and a different biting point again.

I'll take some of the advice on here and check out the pivot point and slave cylinder rod and see if a spot of lubrication helps.
