Hi there just after some advice about me number plate bulbs on my fiat stilo multiwagon 04 plate.
I got the bulb message on the dash so went and checked the number plate bulbs to see that they were fine. Some months later still getting the message the bulb actualy went so off to halford where the staff told me which bulb so i replaced both and now when i have the lightsd on for a few minutes theres a burning smell from the lights back and the lenses over the lights are red hot. Can anyone tell me the right bulbs to use or am i missing something more sinister. ( i did notice that the halford bulbs are slightly thinner but appear to be the same wattage)

Should be 5W bulbs - make sure they're not 10W (as used in some interior lights).

Check bulb wattage also check fittings, they can get water damaged on all stilo shapes and can weaken and changing the bulbs might have disturbed something.
The ones on my three door were horrific after 4 years
