Ey up,

Noticed a ringing/rattling noise the last couple of days coming from behind the dash, reading a previous thread it suggested checking near the fuse box. Started rooting about near the area helping me find the culprit - it's a black plastic ring which is located behind the plastic shroud covering the indicator stalks, it feels like it's connected to a wire (no torx screw driver handy to shift the shroud). My question is what is it's purpose?

Sounds like the immobilizer antenna?

If that is the case should it be fitted around the front of the ignition barrel?

I would have thought so, but was just taking an (un)educated guess*, based on approximate location and description.

It should be clipped onto the outside of the ignition barrell
