When I got the car I didn't recieve a code card....I've since contacted Fiat to sort out the indicators to flash upon locking of car and they have given me the job of obtaining a card...how do I go about this?

Thanks

Lee

Hi

I ordered a code card for mine last year - real easy to do, pop into local dealership, the parts department, give them proof of ownership, etc, pay a few quid [can't recall what mine cost me], and then wait a few days, and voila :)

Cheers Stuart,

So why on earth did he leave it down to me when he could of sorted it when I was there :bang:

Add my dealership to the pain in the ass list :D

My Punto went in for spare key to be coded in and they did it under warranty, I don't know why, and they gave me the code card free when I got the car back

We Spanish arn't famous for aur generosity are we!!!!!!???? Especially here in Cataluña where they won't even give you a glass of water in a bar without paying for it!!!!!!!

In Sweden we don't got any code card for CD/Radio but all other codes is shiped with the car... I got my CD/Radio code by calling my Fiat dealer :)

All codes for UK vehicles are kept by the International Security Register, they arent given to customers as most people would leave them in the car and hence this is seen as a significant security risk that the UK insurance companies wanted to avoid. If the vehicle has any reason for the codes to be required whilst in warranty most dealers would be happy to give you a copy foc. If they arent required then the dealer has to charge as the dealer gets charged for each vehicle search from the ISR, (if the dealer can back up the request is required for a warranty job then the dealer can charge Fiat for the search). (Switching the indicators on to flash when locking is not a warranty repair).

They contact the ISR direct, via 24 hour help line.

Maybe I want to start my car by my self if my remote control is not working. My oppinion is that ISR is just a way to charge us car owners! Every car owner should know better than keep all code cards in his car and he or she should be responsible over his/hers car!

It's like keeping your spare key in your glove box
