Heres a link to a picture of it at the recent autoitalia show at stanford hall (y)

EDIT: many thanks to baby278278 for another top photo of Enzo :D

Yours looks sweet matey, mine is completely standard, needs lowering, induction kit, cruise control (found one), and the callipers painting. Where did you find springs? Yours sits nicely, I do like the nose down stance of the standard but it's just too high at the back!

Thanks (y) it was lowered by the previous owner however they are ebachs (same as on yours) but a different height - I believe it's got a 20-40 set up on it meaning that he lowered the front 40mm and the rear 20mm over the standard set up hence the nose down stance.

Induction kits are quite expensive but I've got a K&N panel filter on mine which is only £35 and does almost just as good a job :)

£92 is far from a bargain Ash lol ........ It's you who's had the deal! Does your shop have a web site? ....... Indicently the thermostat was a "first line" product so its a well known name although a QH part would have been better :)

Haha yeah my bad :p getting confused here lol, so yeah if the £32 one is correct it's a right bargain lol, yeah the do have a website but its crap compared to going into a shop, ill link you to it! Hoping this will be a descent make!

Anyone tell me if this looks right before I take it apart lol?? ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1373644611.237726.jpg

Westie200, gadge has pretty much mentioned all the hiccups. Be warned that you will most probably fall in love with the car and never want to move it on, I know I think it's superb, my girlfriend often questions my love ratio lol.

I can also mention that gadge is certainly right in saying that the oil consumption is rather high, I usually have to top up every couple of weeks but as the oil filter is so well hidden it freshens its oil automatically haha.

I have had to give the car quite a bit of maintenance since I've had it but really of a seven year old car at 70,000 you would expect to.

Thirsty and Speedy are two words that I would sum it up with.

Beautiful car and I've even got a garage for mine now to keep it pristine.

Good Luck if you haven't already got one ;-)

Trust me to read the posts afterwards, congratulations on purchasing your Shummy, any problems I might be able to help. Done a lot of work to mine in the past.

No that's not what mine looks like? :(.......... I have a sneaky feeling that's the 20v turbo one? Almost identical but the "T" piece at the side shouldn't be there. When I was a MVC that was the cheaper version which didn't match my car

Your right this was for a coupe lol, the right one will be here Tuesday £67 all in typical!!

Hi and thanks I'm pretty much on love, and to be fair I've been buttering up the gf by taking her shopping (an excuse to drive) so at the moment I'm managing to get away with spending the majority of my time fiddling about with the schumy!

As for oil consumption I can't really comment yet, I've done 600 miles since the service and can't say the oil has moved much on the dipstick, although I will point out, getting a descent reading I've found impossible! What about you?

The service was a laugh working out how that oil filter came out haha, what a mess it makes once the oil comes out, spent ages cleaning it all out with brake cleaner after, and it still smells like hot oil even after 600 miles! I'm running 5/40 at the moment, admittedly I spend ages trying to decide on what's best to use, didn't fancy the stated 10/40, loads say 10/60 and others say it's too think for the engine, opie's oil say 10/60 and euro car parts and fiat say 10/40, I do a lot of cold starts so decided the slightly thinner 5/40 would suit!

What do you get out of a tank from yours? I've been running tesco momentum fuel and shell v power nitro the new one that seems to make a difference, mine seems a bit hesitant at the moment I think it's only been driven lightly because it seems better every time it gets a good thrash lol.

I've just replaced all 5 coil packs, got a thermostat on order (stuck open), and I've found a cruise control stalk on eBay, the "wish list" is quite long currently lol, it needs it's alloys refurbing as well.

Mines on 54,000 with full history, Cambelt at 41,000.

One question I do have, when cruising on the motorway only at high speed I get the smell of the catalytic converter in the cab with the a/c on and even with recirculating air on, I've checked the exhaust at I'm pretty sure there is no leak, very strange, been on a 3 hour drive and didn't get light headed so its not pumping straight in the cab haha. When driving hard I get a strong smell of cat with the windows down, another reason i think it's had a easy life until now!

Sorry for the essay and thanks for your help

Ash

Yes what a b******d that oil filter is! Lol I've found the best way is to undo it from below and have a large container at hand to catch the oil the cascades from the oil filter area :D..... Then screw the new one from the top :)

5/40 is my choice of oil too (y)

Luckily I have use of a ramp at work so it was easier, but no less messy!!

Hello Ash,

I know the oil filter is pretty invisible at first glance. Very well hidden. I get around 27mpg but if I do a long run it will usually hang around the 32 mark. Quite thirsty machines, my last Stilo was a 1.4 and ran at 42mpg so it was a bit of a shock at first.

I don't know about the smell you are getting if it smells like cat converter I am lucky enough to have not had any problems with that.

I would certainly say check it out on the ramp for any carbon leakage on the body from the exhaust, could it just be a blowing exhaust?

My main problems have been focused around the front of the car, I have had two new drive shafts and a new alternator.

The climate control is a bit of a problem in mine doesn't fire the air out in the right directions. Is yours alright?

Haha, I like your plan, my girlfriend doesn't really like the car but I have told her its never going anywhere soon so she puts up with it. The shopping idea isn't bad however ;-)

Our mpg is roughly the same, I hang around the 29-31 normally but have seen 35-36 on a run, I wasn't disappointed, I have a 206 gti 180 before, and that had a hard life so mpg was always low lol.

Ill get the exhaust stripped down this weekend and re seal all the joints etc see if that helps!

What was wrong regarding drive shafts, I have a receipt for the same done by the previous owner, are they a weak point?

Ahhh I'm glad you said about the climate control, it's not only mine then!
Right on "low" with the a/c on the air goes where I want it, face, feet or screen etc, although whatever setting its on it always sends some air to the screen, even without this option selected, on full temperature (hot) I have no control of the air flow, it just goes to the screen, even if I select vents or feet, down to about 26 degrees on the temp then I start to get control of it!

Another thing, if you just turn your ignition on, do you get a motor running? For example if you change the setting on the climate control from vents to feet, the motor for the flaps runs on like a pulse, on off on off until the flaps are in the correct position. On mine I seem to have this running all the time, on off
On off on off, strange

If your having trouble with your vents then you may be interested in knowing that you can reset them and get them all lined up again just by doing a simple procedure

I think this is how it goes ...... Turn ignition on then press and hold the two round buttons (the ones that say mono on) for about 5 seconds. you'll hear a whirring sound as the vents move and you'll see some numbers count down. When it gets to zero the vents will have reset them selfs :)

Gadge, is there anything you don't know lol!! Thank you for the tip I will be trying this when I get in, fingers crossed!

I know its bad isn't it! Lol that's the power of the forum for you :D ....... Ok I did it on mine earlier today and what you do is push both the MONO and AUTO buttons in together and then you'll see the numbers on the heater control display. There should be three sets of double digits 1 at the top and 2 at either side. Just wait untill all the numbers say "00" and listen for the vents to stop moving and it should be all aligned.

Re-reading your lat post I must admit that mine does that aswell? all of a suddenly it will just go from feet to screen on its own? I put it down to one of those stilo gremlins :)

Right tomorrow's task is to change my thermostat, got the right one this time lol, and as in changing it I'm going to change the coolant out at the same time, went to get the Paraflu from fiat but at £9 a bottle I politely told them to keep it and went to euro car parts and bought triple QX pink oat, I'm sure it's the same stuff! Can anyone point me to the bleed points on the stilo, and tell me if the one in the pic below is the bleed point for the engine block, thanks guys
