Hi guys newbie here just bought a very tidy looking 1.6 dynamic 2 door in red with only 67000 miles, the car looks great but when driving it home it started showing loose connection engine fault and airbag fail .Anyway got home ok and did a diagnostic and found these codes u1706 u1702 p1687 p0638 p0204 p0202 p0201 p0203 p0443 p0352 p0351 p0353 could you please help as i need to get it sorted soon

Most of them will be phantom messages caused by a primary fault e.g. D4 connector or failing battery/alternator. Stick around, someone more experienced will hopefully turn up. :)

First thing I would do is let the person you bought it off know it is faulty. Even if you bought it privately they are obligated to tell you of any known faults and I find it hard to believe the faults only occured on the drive home. I would be pushing to get my money back.

i bought it at auction and it seemed to be running nice and looks good so took a gamble and its not payed off:bang:

battery. get it changed, as said above, get the D4 connector check, plus check the negative battery lead and clamp. Check the positive battery lead, clamp, and trace back to starter solenoid. Look for rusty earth points etc.

I suspect its not a major issue, just the battery or bad earth.

best of luck buddy.

Well had a look and didnt get anywhere there was a loose live off the battery but no joy also the car refused to start today and have put it on ebay
