Hey everyone im new to this so bare with me :) basically I brought my 2003 stilo 1.8 about a month ago had a lovely 165 mile drive home from where I brought it from no isues whatsoever lovely smoth ride then a few days later after doing abother 60 mile trip and runs around town I developed an overheating problem took it to local garage wasnt head gasket thank god so suspected a thermostat or water pump issue had them both replaced along with the cam bel as shes at 59000 still getting the issue fan runs when hot and turning on interior fans helps with cooling also unlike any other overheting I have seen once idle will be back to slap bang in middle of my temperature guage within 10 mins I really am stumped with this one anybody out there ever suffered this before and could shine a bit of light on the situation for me I would be very greatful

Cheers matt

Isn't the normal point for the needle to be in the centre
of the gauge at working temperature.
Once warm it should stay there. Check for air
blockages you should be getting a small amount
of fluid back into the header tank through the small
pipe on the top of the header tank.
Important that the fan works as there is a full cowl
around it. Check the aircon condenser is allowing
air flow through it.

Below normally means open thermostat above
closed thermostat or over heating.

How much oil does yours use? mine burns quite a bit
but emission are fine.
