Hi newbie here! Recently purchased a Stilo 2004 1.2 16v and have the 'cough' odd problem to sort!! The most annoying one at the moment is the passenger side headlamp adjuster motor making a screeching noise as its stuck 'on' so was wondering if anyone knew the fuse number for it as its driving me nuts!!!

Cheers in advance.....(y)

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Both headlamp motors are supplied by fuse F13 in the dashboard fuse box, however that fuse also supplies the left dip beam headlamp, so if you remove the fuse, you will also lose the left dipped beam.

Thanks Davren. Any help on how i can disable the motor then on that side without taking the whole front end/wing off?! Is it poss to get to it by moving just the battery or by getting to it via the wheel arch perhaps? What does the motor actually look like? Like i said only had the car for a couple of months so this is all new to me. Cheers in advance(y)

Only way would be to disconnect the motor's wiring connector inside the headlamp. If you have small enough hands, you may be able to get to it, otherwise you would need to remove the bumper and headlamp. you don't need to remove the wing.

There are 2 types of adjuster motor depending on whether you have normal filament bulb headlamps, or the factory fitted Xenon HID option. 1st picture below is the normal one, 2nd picture is for Xenon HID headlamps.

Just had a quick look and i think its the former motor but theres so many wires around it leading to and from the headlamps its hard to see/work out what does what! Any pointers would be fanatastic-other than that will it eventually gring to a halt at some point? Sounds like its in pain!:D

Cheers again Davren(y)

Whichever type you have, you will need to replace it. So first thing is to ascertain which one your car has.

If you have normal headlamps, the center top buttons on the "MODE" switch panel (at the right end of the dashboard) will have up and down arrows on them for adjusting the headlamp beam, and may have a front foglamp button. If you have the HID headlamps, those buttons will be blank as in the picture below.

If yours is the normal headlamp type adjuster, it's the same a one used on some Volkswagens and is cheaper from VW than Fiat. VW part number for it is 1J0 941 295A
