Just got the mrs a 52 stilo active. It has got a cassette player head unit, mrs wants a Cd player (which I can't blame her, we have no cassettes!) So thought easiest thing would be to get a cd player from another stilo.
So questions for the FF comunity are what should i be aware of and is it possible to fit an aftermarket unit with facia without to much fuss and upsetting the computer/dash display??? She has a phillips DAB/ipod/usb/aux cd unit which is in her bravo(which will be mine soon) and she has hinted she would like it in her new car. Any advice would be help me to avoid trouble from the car and her

Does it not have a cd changer in the hidden compartment above the normal glove box?

I fitted a standard head head unit, piece of cake. you need a fascia off eBay, and you need a switched ignition feed, take the blue wire from the side of the centre console by the gear stick (it feeds the cig lighter)
you'll also need an aerial adaptor, as the standard head unit sends power up it to the aerial amplifier... look for a vw aerial power adaptor and connect the blue power aerial feed from your head unit to it.
