General Keyless Start Stilo on Ebay

General Keyless Start Stilo on Ebay

I always wondered what was the point of that stupid little cubbyhole to left of steering wheel. Now I know, and can go to Valhalla with my mind at rest....

Just for the record, the system was known as 'Easy Go' and was described in the Stilo handbook. An interesting component is the electric steering lock. I don't know about anyone else but I might have a hard time trusting Stilo electrics to unlock the steering. Imagine if it re-locked while driving... :)

It must have been an option because it seems odd that it would be included in an otherwise ordinary-looking spec (no multi-function display, for example). I'm not surprised few people ordered the system, as it doesn't appear to provide much of a benefit (does the car lock automatically when the owner walks away? - I can't remember).

Reminds me of an incident that happened to an acquaintance. Car stopped and needed towing. Got his wife to bring the tow car which he chose to drive. Failed to tell the wife to make sure the car ignition was on. First corner "click"..........

Keyless start but central locking needs sorting.

The central locking and electric steering lock unlocks when you're within a few metres of the car (providing you had the blip in your pocket). You just need to pull the door handle to open the car, and press the Stop/Start button to start it. The immobiliser deactivates once the blip is anywhere inside the car. Having stopped the engine with the button, it should all relock once you've walked a few metres away from the car. But would you trust it?

If the blip battery is flat, there's a key blade inside the blip to unlock the car with, and an induction loop below the curved lines symbol under the handbrake lever. Placing the blip on the symbol gives it enough power to deactivate the immobiliser.

It's not something you can just activate with MES, there's a host of new parts required for it, including:

  • Different door locks for every door.
  • Electrically activated steering lock.
  • Easy-Go ECU.
  • Induction loop.
  • Several aerials distributed all around the car.
  • Easy-Go blip(s)
  • Different body computer.

Hi Dave.

My comment was due to the fact that the central locking on the car in the eBay listing doesn't work and needs sorting. Hence my question: "I wonder if MultiECUScan is able to do this" ?

I'm guessing it was not factory installed and like many others you missed that part of the listing(see attached screen shot). Perhaps it was listed that way on purpose, in the hope the buyer wouldn't notice the keyless keys don't lock and unlock the doors, the cracked window screen and the dented door? As the owner has already obtained the correct code from Fiat, my guess is he has tried and failed to solve the key problem and has decided to sell.

Ahhh...OK. I guessed (incorrectly) from your chin rubbing emoticon that you were thinking of retro fitting it. ;)
