Hi all

Just picked up my first abarth a 2003 68k I have an issue with the colour entertainment centre thing, the trip bit and stuff works fine but when I press the audio button everything is ghosted and I can make the radio or anything work, anybody have any ideas please?

Thanks in advance

Hi

i have added a picture of the screen when i press audio showing the ghosted out options, also if i try and put a cd in it wont take it and pressing eject dosnt eject anything that may still be inside.

Try a soft reboot. When the CN+ has fully switched on, press the "SETUP" button 4 times.

If that doesn't work, check the self diagnostic pages:

  1. Press "Setup".
  2. Press "Connect" 4 times (i.e. button 10, 11 or 12 of the 12 buttons along the bottom of the screen).
  3. Press "Enter".
  4. Scroll down to the newly appeared button "Service", and press "Enter".
  5. Check the 4 pages of diagostics to see if any modules are not working.
Are the buttons only greyed out for the audio module or all modules?

What firmware do you have? The number will be in the bottom right corner of the blue FIAT screen for a few seconds when you first switch the CN+ on.

HI

thanks for the reply, it only seams to be the audio that is ghosted out the sat nav bit dont work due to no cd but i can select parts of in trip computer and car setting all fine, firmware is 9.7 have linked the only screens showing red error boxes, could i be right in thinking that as it wont take a cd could there be one stuck in it which is disabling the audio part?

thanks again appreciate the help and suggestions, the soft reset didnt make any difference however on boot up the cd drive made some noises?

CD Changer, Amplifier and SIM CARD being red doesn't matter, it just means you don't have those items installed, although they should all say ABSENT.

The radio items being red mean there's a problem with the radio module, but if there's a CD stuck in the mechanism, that could prevent the radio module working. You'll need to take the CN+ out and remove the top cover to see it there's a CD in there.

To remove a stuck CD, you need to remove the top cover then remove the screw holding the eject motor. You'll need a T6 screwdriver for the screw.

Lift the motor up just enough so you can get a finger on the edge of the white plastic gear wheel (arrowed red) then turn the gear wheel clockwise until the CD comes out. Be careful not to lift the motor too much or the thin wires connected to it could break.

As you turn the gear wheel, the metal tab (arrowed yellow) should move to the left and the CD should start to come out. You can only turn the gear wheel a small amount at a time, so each time you need to release it, hold the tab so it doesn't spring back then turn the gear wheel a bit more until the CD is out.
