Nowt to do with weather, front coil spring snaped, so anyone done replacement? Hints tips etc (I'm changing both by the way.130k)

I have done it using draper spring compressors and wearing motorcycle helmet not want to be in the way of one of them if things go wrong , some just take whole spring damper unit to local garage and get them to do it in the garage machine...when refitting the top rubber bush in engine bay needs to be fitted back in correct position.

This is how the parts of the top mounting should line up.

There's also a hole next to the suspension turret under the bonnet. With the wheels straight ahead, a 5mm rod (Philips screwdriver blade) should pass freely through that hole and the hole and notch in the top mounting parts..

Wearing a helmet is a good idea. Like those YouTube vids I haven't seen yet
Safe way is to use four spring compressors and only do 2-3 coils with each. That way they're long enough to unwind, and if one slips, it can't go far.

well i will just be taking tension off just enough to get it undone doing job this weekend so not many garages open by the time i get struts off,:idea: might as well do brake pads come to think of it oh dear im starting a list........

job stopped cant undo last bolt so garage monday

got struts back but both top mounts in the 2c position ffs

both front springs replaced and refitted :slayer: much celebration
