Technical Alternator belt squeak

The pulley consist of 2 metal parts bonded together with a central rubber part, as shown in my picture in post 37 above.

That is the only way you can buy it.

If you gave them you regstration number and they know how to look up parts from you registration number, and you asked for the correct part, it will be the correct part for your car.

New crank pulley fitted and the modified one. They showed me the old pulley and the rubber was starting to split and the centre had slight movement, i think thats what they meant. Hopefully thats that!

PLEASE HELP ME! This morning i heard the first signs of this noise starting to come back. It will now get worse and more frequent and i'm stumped. Its had a new clutch pulley, crank pulley and 3 new alternator belts. These new parts have fixed it for a week or so but it keeps coming back. What else could it be possibly be?

Thanks

Phil

As you've had this problem since February, and because it appears that you're getting the work done by a garage, it would probably be better for you to get the garage to diagnose the problem for you.

It's always difficult, if not impossible, to diagnose a noise without seeing the car.
