Hello

I've just been out in my car and theres a squeeling coming from, what i presume, the front wheels. It happens when in motion but goes away when i apply the brakes. It comes and goes, quiet but sometimes loud. I just hope its not another sticking caliper.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Phil

could be pads, discs, caliper, stone stuck between stone shield and caliper....

inspect the disc when cool, feel for grooves or marks, try to check the pads too, and inspect the stone shield-perhaps get a screw driver and poke it gently, to try dislodge anything stuck...

Would there be a like a burning smell present if it was a caliper, like the rear caliper?

if you can smell burning, or an acrid smell, then thats your caliper sticking, and probably the pad inside has worn more than the outside. the disc will be getting too hot because the caliper is stuck on more than it should be. I have had this several times on various cars.

best check your caliper and be prepared to fit a new one plus pads and probably disc...

Well there is no smell :) The rear drivers caliper is sticking and that produced a burning smell. I've got a new one and a set of brake pads! So hopefully its not the caliper this time. Aswell as all this i need a new clutch pulley :bang:
