doesnt matter what setting i have the selector knob on it is of no relation to the actual fan speed.

0 could be 1, 2, 3 or 4. Rinse and repeat for the other positions...

The resistor generally controls the heater blower speed but it normally blows at a higher speed if it has failed!

heres the culprit.... any idea where to get them <£10 because i begrudge buying something like this for £50+... checked RS cant find it, scrappy wants £30+ for the whole heater panel. ebay and amazon are turning up blanks

this is now the 2nd one thats popped (my first being the opening post) ill be checking resistor packs, relays, wiring and connectors before fitting a 3rd. seems to only pop after using fan speed 4 for long periods, although i can guarantee its pure coincidence... having said that... i might go and check the resistor pack now as im not 100% sure its the switch again
