Help not sure how the forum works on my iphone but even bigger problem is my stilo 1.9jtd clutch has done something very strange pedal stuck half way then when I pressed it down it wouldn't come back up, then when I pulled away it feels almost like ABS under foot makes a grinding noise and smells of burning but not normal clutch smell it's almost a plasticky smelling. If any one has any ideas would be great the biting point seems to be in the same place and still pulls away just making horrible noise and ratchety feeling ABS sensation through the pedal. how hard of a job is it to change the clutch I know gear box has to come out but is it easy enough to do on drive. Or am I talking sub frames to be taken out please please please help havnt got much money and have already forked out on brake callipers, discs and pads all round, egr valve, and just put 2 new tyres on then stupid clutch does this.
Any help would be apretiated thanks Si

HI mate, i cant help too much with the Stilo clutch i am afraid but I would definately not drive it. The slave cylinder could be at fault, the plasticky burning smell will almost certainly be masking the smell of a burning clutch.

What mileage has the car got?

Im not so sure its a drive way job on these as they are so low, you will certainly have to drop the gearbox or take the engine out. You could get a decent quote, and get it picked up perhaps?

best of luck mate its a horrible situation to be in.

It's a 04 plate Stilo multi wagon with 92000 on the clock so if fly wheel is the problem it's pretty much a write off as I would say the car is on worth £1200-£1500 and i have already spent £500 on it any one else got any ideas or has any one done a clutch Change would you say it could be done on the drive?
