Good morning all,

i have an issue with the Connect Nav+ screen.

Basically every once in a while when i switch my Car on, the Connect Nav+ switches on but the screen stays Black (with a faint white line at the bottom that flickers). when this happens i turn off the car and then switch it back on. Then The Connect Nav+ switches on with no problems showing the Fiat emblem on the Screen.

This is very weird as i do not know what the problem can be as it has been happening to me recently!!!

Has anyone else experienced this problem before, or has a fix for this?

does it happen when its really cold? is it ok when its warm out?

i dont know much about the NAV's but i think you can firmware upgrade them, maybe that will help...

Possibly one of the ribbon cables that connect to the screen is not making a reliable connection.

It just seems weird that once i turn the car back off and then back on it works!

You can hear the CD booting up but just a black screen!!

Be careful if you take the front panel off, because all the buttons can fall out. Most are obvious where they go back, but there are 12 plastic spacers behind the 12 lower buttons that are of different lengths and need to be re-assembled in their correct positions.

Thanks Davren, have you got step by step instructions on how to remove the Connect Nav+ and connect the ribbon or ensure it is correctly placed?

alternatively is there another type of head unit i can fit on the stilo abarth that is compatible the same as the connect Nav+?

No... I've not had your problem, but I've taken several of them apart to repair other problems.

Also my mileage does not flash always, just sometimes. I didn't mounted any time delay circuit. Maybe pin 4 is not making a reliable connection?

I connected it to the lighter.

New update of this problem.

My nav's behaving like that when it's hot, at first start it's all ok. But if i turn it off, and then back on, i get that black screen with that line, but i can still hear the cooler working really fast, like on my laptop when i'm playing games or smth.

Then i have to reboot the unit( 4times pressing setup) several time (6, 7, 8 or more times) to start normally. Or to wait a while and turn back on. Any ideas?

Maybe some overheating issues? Something inside that needs cleaning/replacing?
