Hi all,

right here it goes....

about 6 months ago my stilo decided to not start, I took the battery out trickle charged it and fitted it back in and it was fine, with my job I don't need to use my car everyday as I have a van for daily use, a couple of days went by and my car didn't even turn the starter, no lights no noise, nothing. I assumed it was the battery so bought a second hand one slightly more powerful and fully tested as 100% ok. it was fine for about a week, then decided to start playing up AGAIN!! I began to give up looking and just kept swapping batteries, this has made my positive battery clamp break so I am in the process of ordering a new one.

but the question still stands, why does my car not start after a couple of days?

ive checked the alternator, its fine
ive checked both batteries, they are both perfect

and just recently it has cut out whilst on full lock reversing on to my drive (luckily)

any suggestions? or could it be just my terminal?

ill get on my knees and beg for help on this lol

first of all what size of battery and how old are they,
ive had recent issues with the computer going nuts, and bulb failures and sensors, going loopey,i replaced the battery with a heavy duty one recomended for the stilo, all issues seem to have gone.
hope this helps.

had similar issues and it was a dud batt. Replaced it and a few month later the same problems. Took the battery bk under warranty and hot a new one. Two years later same issues again. Batt wouldn't seem to charge even after a gd run but when u ran a volt meter over it it tested ok. After an overnight charge on a trickle charger it lasts a few months. Then bk to the same problems. Spoke to friend who recons a bad earth might be the cause so Mabey with a wee check. Hope this helps.
