Ok had my cambelt changed on my 1.6 stilo, now starting has become unpredictable. Sometimes it starts first time, others it takes 3 or 4 tries. Fitted a new larger capacity battery 3 weeks ago before the cambelt change, had it and alternator checked today, alls ok there. When its running its fine nice and smooth no probs. Any ideas?? :bang:

I think the gap at the Crank Position Sensor can cause problems if not correctly replaced - worth a little look. Regards alsimmo

Was the correct locking tool equipment used when the cam belt was changed ?? - It has to be bang with the 1.6 engine. Regards alsimmo

are you sure the garage knew how to fit the belt correctly, there has been a number of people on here that have used the correct tools but still managed to fit the belts incorrectly.
it only takes a tooth to bring on the faults. are you getting any un predictable fault codes on your ecu?

no m8 no fault codes whatsoever
