Hi All,

Went to start my Fiat stilo 16v 5 door on a 53 plate the other day and it wont start changed the starter motor and recharge the battery, tried again but it now turns but tries to fire but will not run on its own steam, any advice please.

sounds like either not getting fuel or not getting spark.

what engine size is it? is it petrol or diesel? 1.2? 1.6? 1.8?

What engine is it? Most are 16v

possible cam sensor or faulty coil pack or worst case immobiliser fault??

its a 1.6 active check fuel ok and spark ok tries but just wont go that extra mile to fire on all 4 cylinder

could be a coil pack or an immobiliser issue. if these are ok, your looking at a sensor problem somewhere possibly.

have you had it on a fault code reader?

Hi All just want to say thanks to all the replied that i have and to give you an update with my car....

I stripped down my carb and cleaned it and with it disconnect i started it with it wedged open after a while it fired up but only ticked over slowly, i left it like this for 10 min and then reconnect everything back in place, put the key in turned and it ran like a dream .

Hope this info will be useful to some one has i hope we are all aware that we may have the same fault but different diagnose to the fault.

I assume you mean your throttle body

yes if thats what you call it now lol shows you im getting old

Do you know how i can open the stilo manual part 1,2,3,4,5,& 6 i hve down load them but i cant seem to get it running? HELP!!!!

Download ImgBurn (search on google), once you've done that open it and click "write image file to disc". Before you do that you'll need to have saved all six of the Stilo eLearn files into the one folder (named Stilo eLearn say?) as if you do that it will generate a single img file in that folder that you'll need to select to write onto your disc. Let it write onto the disc then open the file on it and you should have eLearn
