Hi all @FF,
During my recent problem off both dipped beam headlights failing at the same time I have only just realized that my bulb failure warning did not alert me of this fact  After I replaced the first side and checked it did then throw up the bulb warning on the dash.
Is there any reason it may have done this ie.no voltage drop etc. ?? all working ok now.

Happy New Year to all FF members & guests

Hi there is no bulb failure message on dash cluster for dipped bulb fail, it is that way as you would notice bulb failure when driving , though one of mine went in poor visibility daytime and not notice till reflection of side of van noticed only one bulb

If you had headlight wiring connector removed you would get failuire message as would think turn signal bulb was blown when in fact you had just removed connector.

Not sure if any high beam or fog give fault but sure that dipped does not give fault message

mine used to do this only on the rears and i used to get the message often even though the lights were fine.

i found this all the time on my numberplate bulbs with my old 5dr, the bulbs were working but had gone high resitance.
i would change the bulb and a few weeks later it would happen again.
i ended up changing the bulb holder as it had corroded (i had cleaned it off) this seemed to solve the problem until the day i wrote it off.
