Hi everyone, first of all,i have searched the forum first before starting a new one,i just wanna make sure if i had the same case as everybody,2 weeks ago,i started to hear a noise underneath the car, sounds like a metal to metal bumping each other and it's at worst when i am going uphill or downhill,in flat surface,it does'nt bother me much,if i rev the car,the noise dissapears, anyone experience this?care to share if it cost much?this car has been a pain in my arse and honestly,i don't want to spend so much,by the way i have Stilo 1.9 JTD,here's the video, sorry for the cam angle, any input will be helpful, thanks everyone...

Here i am driving downhill where the noise is at worst...

Exhaust system is loose somewhere.

Sounds more like dual mass flywheel or clutch to me. Does the noise stop if you put the clutch pedal down while the engine is running?

Hi Dav,i will have it checked tomorrow if the noise stops when clutch pedal is pressed but i had this whole clutch assembly replaced feb this year.

Mhowse ans Steve, thanks guys,i will have the exhaust system checked.

Check the auxilary belt pulley! The big one, on the crankshaft! It's metal-rubber-metal combo, and the rubber tend to fail!

yep i second that, mine was making a racket like that when my clutch was slipping, my clutch was fine but my dmf failed, i welded the dmf up and put a new clutch in and that was about 30kmile ago with no problems other than a slightly noisy tickerover now

Perhaps they didn't tighten it correctly and something is about to break or fall off.

The noise sounds as though it's coming from the left side of the engine/gearbox. The crankshaft pulley is on the right side.

Interesting. When you have a few mins could you post some details about that, Roy? The lurking iceberg of a failed DMF hangs over all of us...

Thanks for the reply everyone at least i have a lot of ideas before going to the garage whom i don't trust that much, the noisee is more on the left bottom side and is more noticeable when the car is going up or downhill, the noise goes away when pressing the gas pedal.
