where do i start.. About 6 months ago car started no bother leave the car sitting for a few mins with engine off. Get back into it and turn the starter and it wont start then have to turn the key back the second time it will start. Now its drinking the petrol, bad exhaust fumes. When the car is ticking over it will just knock off.. When driving car will stall for a second and engine light will come on and go off again within seconds. I have changed the injectors also changed the map sensor, new plugs, new plug lead. Does anyone else now what else could be wrong. Was thinking it could be fuel pump, throttle body, ecu etc. Have spent a lot of money already on other problems. Don't want to spend big just encase its something small that i could do myself..

So if anyone has any ideas i am open to listen please help Thanks

have a search through posts on crank position sensor (cps) and see if it relates to your problem with car....that can cause issues when engine warm. but as Yellow said be best to see if you have any fault codes stored before spending more here and there

i plugged it in to obd and i got two codes u1600 p0460 as far as i know there nothing to do with problem. The car is only getting 25 mpg. Now starting to stall and the revs are up and down..

did you clean your throttle body?
Also check your software version (should be 2616 instead of2611,can be read with Examiner tester or FiatEcuScan) - there was a dealer ecu update to solve the jumping idle rpm with a fouled throttle body.

P0460 is a Cat Efficiency DTC basically the lambdas are telling the ECU that they are reading too closely to each other so your cat is 'inefficient'. might be worth looking at your lambdas to see what they're telling the ECU.

U1600 is an instance where the the chip in your key wasnt read correctly or at all it can hapen if you have other 'chip' keys or devices on your keyfob i know on the Puntos it could sometimes be caused by a bad earth at the aerial ring connector or on the ECU but as yours is a 1.6 its probably not going to be that... delete it and see if it returns, if not its notheing really to wory about!

lets go back to basics with it 1st port of call is to check out the Throttle Body, its a common 'weakpoint' with cutting out and hunting so clean it out and do a relearn procedure(link in my sig)

25MPG isnt anything to worry about unless you spend your life on m'ways ive averaged 30mpg this week on m'ways (i have been putting my foot down a little more than often though) but when im driving round town in a spirited fashion i will often get low 20s... dont worry too much about the dash MPG figures as i tends to miscalculate it anyway. lets sort your other 'obvious' issues before worrying about trivial ones ;)
