The headlights have 2 adjusters on the rear. One does up and down direction, and the other side to side, I cannot for the life of me remember which does which though

check your bulbs are fitted correctly before playing with adjusters if not fitted right will cause beam not pointing correctly

also beaware that if you do use the adjuster screws on headlamp unit and if not been touched for years can snap only made of Plastic... try a little squirt of wd40 or similar into adjuster if you think that they may snap

if adjuster switch is not working worth checking adjuster motors are working or not as may well be motors gone or stuck and not switch

Before you make any adjustments though, the units don't pysically go out of alignment all that easy, unless you've had an accident. And you'd notice the whole light cluster would be squint.

Personally the first thing I would check is that the bulbs are fitted correctly. Of all cars with replacement bulbs fitted I'd say 80% have them fitted incorrectly. You can tell this is someone has replaced 1 bulb and one headlight is dazzling the hell out of you, its because the bulb is likely fitted 90 degrees out.

A bulb can only be fitted correctly in 1 way. So even though its a paintful job (skint knuckles) its worth check each bulb, remove and refit to be 100% sure the bulbs are fitted correctly.
