All Stilos sold new in the UK were fitted with remote locking.
Thanks for that, I didn't know In NZ only the 1.8 and Abarth versions were sold, and while both of those had remote locking, I was thinking it would be typical of FIAT to strip those features from cheaper models so that the 'bare bones' Stilo was barely any more expensive than a Punto ELX
Paolo Cantarella (I think it was ) once said in the 60s that FIAT should offer a car at every price point from a basic 500 up to a 130 Coupe in small increments (can't remember the exact value). That way, they could always persuade the customer to spend just a little more...
Anyway, to get the remote locking working properly it will probably be necessary to reprogram the remote keys into the body computer. I believe FIAT/MultiECUScan can do this.
I suspect the windows-going-down problem is going to be a mechanical problem with the switch on the key barrel. WD40 in the lock probably won't reach the affected part and a new micro switch may be necessary (think Maplin rather than FIAT, as it is probably a standard-size micro switch when you really get down to it).
