Hi, Firstly Thanks to the forum for all the useful bits of knowledge on here! My Stilo would have cost me a fortune by now, as things are going wrong on it faster than I can repair them!!

I've had a little search about on the forum but this time I've found nothing, or should I say found no one that has had the same problem.
So this morning I'm driving to work and go to indicate left out of my street and I'm fairly sure it worked, then as I took my next left..... nothing! So I had a little test Right .... Fine! Left nothing :bang: !

All other functions seem to be working headlights, main beam, right indicator etc. just left???

So my question is could this be an electrical fault, as I got the usual Blackpool illuminations lights and 'fault beeps' routine a couple of weeks ago due to voltage problems, or could it be a physical problem i.e. knackard stalk switch - and is a stalk replacement difficult?? I cant find anyone that's ever replaced one!

Just for reference my Stilo is an 02 reg 1.2 5 door active!

I hope its not to expensive, I've managed to fix most stupid faults on this car from the help of you good people!!

Bit of an update on this weird problem. I've been told that this morning about 6am my right indicator was just ON!!???? Its maybe starting to sound like Stilo electrical fun and games!!

If the car has an aftermarket alarm system fitted, they have been known cause similar problems with the direction indicators.

No definitely no after market alarm fitted so I can rule that out. I'm about to drive home from work now so we'll see if its got its act together..... wish me luck!

Possibly water in the grey engine fuse box. That can cause numerous electrical problems. Especially relevant if you don't have the large black battery cover fitted.

How did you know???!!!?? Its been off since I replaced the battery 4 weeks ago . It's really strange because it will work for a moment when I start the car and then give up the ghost. What I could do with finding out is if left and right indicators have separate relays, they maybe the left one could be kaput???

Do you think it may be worth cleaning all the contacts and relay connections?

There are no accessible relays for the direction indicators. They are controlled by the Body Computer. There may be miniature relays or power transistors inside the BC.

What about the simple thing - is the bulb blown??

Bit of a pain in the arse to get to on the nearside but no point faffing about trying to find relays etc if the bulb could be out? Was you right indicator on all the as you were told?

Any warnings coming up on the dash?
