Hi All I have a 2003 Stilo over the last 3 Months i have had lots of faults.:bang:

Loose Connection.
Can Bus Faults.
Immobilizer Fault.
Misfire.
Failed Emissions Test.
Engine dying with out warning.
To list but a few.

So I Have replaced Throttle Body, MAP sensor, crank shaft sensor, coil packs, body and engine ecu, cat.

After Hours of reading every associated post here I Have checked engine earths, ECU's earths, Body earths deckchair5's :slayer: guide to injectors and the d4 connector (cleaned and tightened twice), Under bonnet fuse board striped and cleaned Take Photos be Warned, Checked lamba sensors and made the choose to replace the ecu. I found a Matched Pair of ECU's, locks, Keyfobs, £75 on ebay :)

Fitted the ECU's and ran fiatecuscan all the original can bus faults gone :) a proxi alignment and other things clear asr off the body computer. I went for a drive then i got a knock sensor fault:bang: so out cam the test kit again and after another reading session nothing wrong but fault still there.

As a last chance with nothing to lose i cracked open the old engine ECU and soldered all the pins on the board and refitted to the car with the body ecu and did all the fiat scan bits then the start first turn the key:) dash board bleeping phonic learning later all fault clear:D toke for a drive came home and the 1601 and 1600 faults were back But the knock sensor is ok.

if any one gets this far with out falling to sleep please help.

Summary:

Old ECU CAN faults immobiliser faults ( both Keys)

New to me ECU Knock Sensor faults

Are these faults associated? or do i have to bad ecu's
