i have an 03 stilo jtd and the n/s dipped beam headlight bulb went no warning on dash thought so removed bumper and both headlights and replaced all the bulbs in both lights with the lights unplugged i switched on ignition an get the message front bulb fail then front ind fail with arrow pointing to both sides so i take it there is no fail warning for dipped just indicator and side lights

anyway replaced all the bulbs and the also upgraded the side lights with smd led ones (that incorporate a device to stop the bulb warning coming on due to there low power consumption) and all worked fine no probs now 2 months on every time i start car i get bulb warning for n/s/f but all bulbs are working fine and here for strange bit you only notice at night but get out the car and the n/s/f side light if glowing very dimly for about a minute then goes out, open a door or press a button on key it comes on leave everything alone for a min or so and it goes out again

also if the front lights are switched off or are on auto and its daylight so there off the bulb warning stays on but if the front lights are on the bulb warning stays on for about 30 secs then goes off

could it be the LED bulbs are causing the problem? is it worth swapping out with standard bulbs to see?

Bulb check operates constantly, regardless of if the lights are on or off. It'll be this causing the LEDs to light up dimly as there is a current going through it. Fit propper filament bulbs and your problems will all disapear

Yeah I had this problem when I fitted LED sidelights on mine, bulb warning would come on when I switched the lights off lol but I replaced them with standard bulbs and it's fine. I did have an excellent set of LED sidelights about a year ago, they were a really intense blue/ white and were considerablybrighter than standard bulbs but they also worked without setting off any bulb warnings. I miss those I've never been able to find them again

can bus LEDs would work.. failing that a 500-ish ohm resistor would probably suffice but that involves choping the wiring loom up...

look for Phillips Coolblue/nightbreaker 501 bulbs

never really understood the want/need for the LEDs especially when incandessants behind the blue filters are sufficient on the stilos
