Hi people i have a weird feeling from the front of my stilo?? its like a flat spotted tyre but cant be?? reason for this is the front tyres are both new and balanced been there since owning the car since february!
i have replace the anti roll bar links and rear axles bushes and springs for mot and just had a new drivers side wheel bearing and outer cv joint and the feeling is still there mainly just driving like if your in a straight line it feels bumpy from the front had new discs and pads all round so i know its not the discs you could say it feels like a warped disc judder but even after changing discs still there?? the car does pull slightly to the left but the tyres are not being worn out uneven even the garage ruled out tracking! could it be the passenger cv joint and wheel bearing going yet have no normal sounds or whining for a wheel bearing rumble, i just dont want to fork money out for something it dont need any suggestions please much appreciated other than that since doing the rear bushes driving is much better apart from this feeling of a flat spot at speed its fine when your slower you feel it more like its bouncing paul:bang:

weird. could be the wishbones/rubbers, the shocks/suspension, damaged wheel perhaps (but not likely) as you say, CV or driveshaft...its a tricky one to diagnose, you need to get a good mechanic out in it so he can feel/hear it, no amount of looking underneath will help diagnose this one!

best of luck !

Hi thanks for reply the wheels on my stilo are steel standard cant afford alloys at mo lol, the previous owner had both front springs replaced for mot and no play adviced on mot for wishbones or ball joints a month ago and the front wheel bearing that went on drivers side showed no signs of trouble or play on mot 3 weeks before the garage checked the car whilst doing rear bushes as he new i had to do a 600 mile round trip it was the same garage who did the mot 3 weeks before he said it was shot and asked if i noticed any noises to which with my personel knowledge from working for vauxhalls new i had no noticable signs of wheel bearing problems could it be a worn cv joint without making noise causing the what feels like going over bumps feeling paul is the front bearing on a 1.2 a complete hub or bearing on its own??

my money is on wishbone mount rubbers no amount of tugging will show up play so Mr VOSA probably wont have picked it up... put your handbrake on and 'rock' the car forwards and back you should be able to see any play.

Is the bump in sync with wheel rotation?

If the replacement tyres were 'budget' types then there is a distinct possiblity that one may have developed an 'egg'!

Jack up offending wheel and slowly rotate, if a bump is there you should see it.

I have had this occur to me twice in the past and one tyre was a Michelin!
