Right I wanna get 200bhp out of the engine and im going to get it remapped soon but want to sort out some decent air intact first, i have been looking around on the forum and i just cant make out whats best, I looked and the K&N cold air intact system complete kit thing which is like £250 but ive been reading on here that its not that good so im so confused:bang::bang:

Some say just a pannel filter is better?
theres so many different types K&N, BCA kits...................

Please help or any Advise

I've heard people fitting the BMC and a remap and getting above the 200bhp mark

BMC's I think are enclosed incuction kits that don't come with piping but I think they come with a cold air feed as well.

Are they actaully any good??

Yeah the BMC is good, probably the best you can get for them. Other people seem to be getting MAF problems with other kits. You should PM a few Abarth owners and see what they have to say. One person I know of is Gadgemeister who owns a Shumacher and has had some stuff done to it, mail him

I had the same conversation with myself about a year ago? There's lots of opinion on weather a cone, be it K&N or pipercross, are worth the money or not? The K&N 57i seems to be the best budget cone filter (about £80 I think?) but you still retain the old intake pipe which kind of goes against the "free flow" idea yet for substantially more, as you just pointed out MG118 you could have the whole system right up to the throttle body and I think you would get some hp gains but is it worth £250?? Well for me I decided it wasn't so I opted for a K&N pannal filter which a lot of people on here were praising.

I'm not sure weather it has given me any hp gains but it's a much better filter and is bound to let more air though just like a 57i would but at half the price (£35) plus you'll probably never need to change it? So that's what i'ld go for, a panel filter and then spend the extra £200 on a strut brace or something

Yeah that's what I mean spending £250 and it will archive very little just doesn't seem worth it, as a £50 panel filter would achieve some advantage.
There has been a some members giving good feedback with panel filters, I couldn't deal with spending that money for a whole system that cause more problems!!

I think it would be down to price? The more expensive 57i may well give you a little bit more torque but I think a panel one would also do the same at half the price? ........ The cone looks better however? But it's stuffed under the car so you don't really get to see it unless your doing an oil change
