Hi guys

Does anyone know what's the best battery to put in a 2007 Stilo 1.4 95hp?

I'm looking at putting in an Exide EA530 (see link below) but not 100% sure

Also when you do replace the battery do you need to re-register/re-code the ignition key with the car using the keycode card or is it just a case of pull out the old battery, stick in the new one and start her up?

Much thanks

The best will be the one with the highest capacity which will physically fit.

I always use Bosch Silver batteries myself - 5 year warrentee with them :)

It's Varta or Bosch for me, brands that you can trust.
I don't agree in fitting the highest capacity that will fit.
By doing so, you will put ( a lot) more stress on the alternator, and there's the risk that the alternator will not be able to fully charge the larger battery, and thus shortening it's actual life.....!!
Just fit what Varta (or Bosch) advises would be my suggestion.

Surely it'll just take slightly longer to charge, thats all, no extra stress as voltage is the same.

Its no different to having a water tank, and doubling it size, just takes twice as long to fill, no extra stree on the pipe/supply filling it.

I couldn't find anyone that did the Varta batteries so I've gone for a Bosch Silver S4 002, it's a 52Ah, 470A CCA so should do the job.

Many thanks again for all the advice
