I got a full engine (head, block and sump) and had my turbo fitted onto it along with my cambelt kit, water pump which were only about 3 months old, EGR valve, the best 4 glow plugs after my mechanic tested them all, kept injectors that came with new engine and probably other parts that i can't remember. When he had the engine out he also checked all the hoses and pipes etc. The air pipe that went into the MAF was damaged or split so thats fixed so more flat spot above 2.5k revs. The turbo had been removed at sometime in the past and when it was put back on, there was no seal. The turbo actuator valve? was dangling down before, now its mounted securely. The connections on the EGR valve have been repaired. Whatever problem he encountered with the engine out he fixed. Yes its still 115 engine.
I could have given up on the car but end of the day i just thought it would be best to keep it and get it sorted. I looked around at other cars but nothing really appealed to me. Plus if i scrapped it i would only get upto £500 and not much in that price range was better than the stilo or had problems. I also took into account insurance costs and tax and the Stilo came out cheaper.
