Technical Auto Gearbox Failure

You're probably right that there's something at the gearbox end controlling that, I've checked eper and it doesn't show anything in particular for the SS, under release control it still has the clutch pedal and switch :s I don't understand that, maybe it's worthwhile just to peek under the footwell to double check there isn't one under there, probably isn't though just doesn't make sense why eper wouldn't show anything different for the SS

This is the "generic" picture eper seems to give for all Stilo models, Selespeed or regardless. Number 11's the clutch switch.

Also, this is the best I could find regarding the P0704 fault code:

http://www.permoveo.ltd.uk/tabid/122/OBD-Error-Code/P0704/Diagnostics/Fiat/Default.aspx

It also refers to the clutch switch above the clutch pedal

no SS schematics... typical lol

Ill check the footwell, i suppose will be under back of either pedal if anything.

Do you have a layout pic of the gearbox too Mark, just so i can check for loose connections etc?

I'm pretty much ready to ebay this - sold as seen!

Hope that helps/ resembles your engine bay a bit :p

realistically...

IS there chance that all this needed was a recalibration considering the clutch went all crazy. Its had gearbox and clutch re-calibration. COULD this do the trick or is it more likely that it is actually something else.

There is the chance that they didn't do it right. Perhaps the ecu can be reset then recalibrated, like I said before a recalibration should only be required when the clutch is changed so the ecu knows the thickness of the new clutch, from memory I do remember a previous thread from a while back where the car was acting up and the recalibration was needed due to the fact the gearbox ecu thought the clutch was x thickness but in real life was different - small difference but enough to screw it up

Its the bite point, not the thickness that gets reset. OP you can do it all yourself with a registered version of FES/MES I believe (y)

Had a buyer for my car, but i just literally turn it on before he came and failure again. I have bought a copy of mutliecuscan or its going to be sold as spares/repairs. Could this be do with the wet/damp at all? some sort of sensor not happy?

On the free version, it is scanning NO errors on the gearbox? how can this be, could it be coming from the engine?

Okay

I scanned engine and have code P1703 - Engine shut down from aut gearbox -No help available
The reason for this fault is that ECU did not receive signal from the sensor. The fault is present now. Take appropriate action to fix this sensor fault. Dashboard warning light was not activated for this fault.

Anyone help with this pleaseee?
