well its damp problems have started again the wifes 1.2 stilo when started this morning kame up with atemted theft and ever since it keeps comming up alarm faultand the padlock comes on if i switch it off and back on its ok till the next time its switched off any body any idears :worship:

I had this issue on mine, when i bought it, i was told it had a alarm fault, but just left it, then in august my wife needed something from my car, she had trouble getting in (one click and trying the passenger door 2 clicks to do that) but she got the windows down and then opened the door from inside, and then hey presto my alarm started working again, just like that, and worked fine until the weekend, when i was putting on my new mudflaps i decided to clean the inner arches washed it all down and then it came up with a fault again, but last night went out to it and now it is working again so i believe it must be dampness, so tomorrow i intend to take the arch liners out and look at the alarm sounder. this may be teh same issue on yours buddy does the siren beep beep when unlocking?

does any body know which side the alarm is on and where it is inthe arch and maybe i can try some elec cleanner it allway seems to work on every thing else stilo

is there any body who could point me in the right dierection on this problem and if you think it might need a new alarm siren and do you have to match it to the car or maybe i can buy a second hand one froma scrap yard could realy do with some help on this one even tried sitting in the car and arming it and no alarm

if your still looking to find Alarm siren it is located under scuttle which is where you will find front wiper motor need to remove front wiper arms and prise of 3 plastic gromit things that hold plastic cover in place some may snap as you remove so find some new before removing , had problem with mine, the alarm is meta type battery backup siren means it has own battery to sound siren if any tampering with wiring, would need identical meta type siren if replaced you could try breakers but it also may be fault elsewhere, my siren stopped working tried replacement and still no joy and kept getting alarm fault on dashboard when tested was not getting signal to siren, so in the end used Multiscan software to disable alarm still have led flash on door just no alarm activated which is not an issue and removes fault issue from dashboard

Well my alarm stopped again and the started again, i wonder if you can deactivate it from a press pattern on the keyfob, sounds daft but when i asked my wife about what she did, she said she, held the button down all the windows opened and the sunroof, then leaned in passeger door and opened it and hey presto the siren started to work again, this happened again last week did what my wife told me and the siren worked again, maybe luck but it worked for me, also isn't the battery replacable in the sounder unit, and i was told the sounder can be replaced no problem as the alarm ecu works with the body computer

i must admit it would be intteresting to find out abit moore on these alarms has my stilo has not got one only the wifes one.
