Hi, the car started 1st time earlier with no problems then when I tried to start it again later on all the electrics flashed and it went dead in the on position, I turned the key to off and after a few attempts it started again (at this point I should have driven home and parked the car outside my house). when I try it now it turns over but won't start, when the key is in the MAR position all lights come on and stay on, when its turned to ON The engine management light and immobiliser light stay on the car turns over but will not start.

I have tried charging the battery its not that.
I've tried my other key, and same problem.

If it was something to do with the key (immobiliser) would it turn over?

Is there a fuse that is related to the immobiliser?

Please Help!

could be low battery voltage, or possible water in the fuse box, did you happen to drive through one of the many lakes that have formed in the past few days?

I don't think I've driven through a massive puddle but it was belting it down, I was thinking it could be water or an earth shorting something out.

When I last had a look at the fuse box and battery I noticed white foamy **** around the - terminal could this be the problem?

I will try a different battery and hope that sorts it out.
I'm going to get it towed home and use a diagnostic programme to find out what is going on, I know I could get the FIAT code from a dealership but they want £35 and that won't fix the problem.

After all that the problem was the Terminal on the battery had cracked, I still don't know why this would cause the immobiliser to play silly buggers but after replacing the terminal it works fine, and it was very cheap to fix.
I thought I would let anyone know who may have the same problem.
