Hi all i'm new hre been have a looking around the forum and looks very good any oooh i'm having some problem's with my sat nav some time it wont load the disc just says cd error then some time's its ok but when it loads all i get on the screen is the egg timer and thats it any one got any ideas

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

When the CD Error occurs, press the " SETUP " button 4 times. This will reset the system.

If the error only occurs when you start the car, it may be due to a low or faulty battery. Otherwise, it could be poor quality discs or a problem with the CD unit.

Hi I have tryed what you said but its stil the same when it comes on all I get on the navigation is the egg timer
 
  1. What happened when you did the reset? Did the screen go black then come back on?
  2. Have you tried the reset while the engine is running.
  3. Does the problem only ocur when you start the car?
  4. Can you eject the current disc and insert another one?
  5. Have you tried an original (not copy) music disc?
  6. Have you tried a navigation map disc?

1.yes it did
2.yes just the same out come
3.yes
4.yes and it works ok
5.yes thats what i'm using the one that came with the car seen them on ebay for £12 mite get one and give it ago
 
If the problem only occurs when you start the car, it's likely to be because of a low or faulty battery, or a poor connection somewhere in the Connect Nav power supply or earth.

OK... in that case, it's likely to be the CD mechanism or the laser within the mechanism. It's not available seperately from Fiat, but a member on here (I think it was yellowstilo ) knew someone in The Netherlands that was able to supply them.

Send a PM (Private Massage) to him to enquire about availability and price.
 
The last time the egg timer hung about for ages on mine I cleaned the disc and it worked ok so now I clean the disc about once a month cause its
in there all the time gathering dust.
