I've just tried to open the drivers door on my Stilo (2003 1.6) and it's stuck solid. To make it worse it's parked on a narrow driveway with walls either side so scrambling in is not easy! The button comes up when operated by the remote fob, and all the other doors open fine. I tried operating the lock manually but that is solid with no movement either way, unlike the passenger side which works as expected. Operating the internal lever has no effect at all. I've tried running the engine in case it resets anything, but no luck so far.

I've searched for similar threads but none match this problem with the stuck solid lock. Any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be Dead Lock stuck on that drivers door ..did you use the deadlock option to lock the car last time you locked it

Unfortunately yes. I previously owned a string of Vectras over 12 years and used the immobiliser all the time (double click), so habits die hard. Would the deadlock prevent the lock from operating with the key - it literally will not turn either direction?

Immobiliser is a seperate system to dead locking.

Deadlocking is electronic, no physical connection I believe, so key in the door won't help :(

I realise that, I was trying to explain that I probably deadlocked it through force of habit.

Deadlocking is electronic, no physical connection I believe, so key in the door won't help :(

But would the deadlock prevent the lock from turning? The reason I ask is that the lock feels solid and I don't know if that's normal when the deadlock is operated, or if it should still turn. I suspect the whole mechanism is jammed but I want to rule deadlocking in or out before I somehow try to remove the door card.

I went back to the car and repeatedly operated the remote fob, including reapplying the deadlock, and it released itself! I've tried spraying everything with WD40 but I expect I'm going to have to get inside the door and take a proper look at the weekend. Meanwhile I have discovered that the key still won't turn the lock even though I've doused it in WD40 too, so it looks like the lock is seized.

Thanks for your help :worship: and I promise to be careful not to apply the deadlocks in future! :D
