Hi all, searched the forum quite a lot, and couldn't find exactly my issue.
3 weeks ago, I was getting "Loose connection" while driving, engine would cut out due to no fuel (depressing the clutch showed no engine revs), but I could then bump start immediately assuming I was travelling fast enough in the first place. One time when I was not travelling fast enough, it started again after 10 minutes, but only after I opened the bonet, did nothing, and slammed it again.
It is almost like any small jolt - immediate bump start, or slamming the bonet - helps to resolve the issue.
No other warning lights or messages are present.
So I bought a new battery, had the earths cleaned, and changed the relay for the fuel pump. But today I experienced twice the "Loose connection" message for less than half a second along with a brief, but noticeable, lurch due to no fuel.
Is this enough info. for a stab at which is the most likely cause? Dodgy fuel pump? Bad positive terminal fuse board? Crank sensor? Mass air flow sensor? Alternator? Something else?
Give me a computer with a problem and I have no issues... Cars on the other hand...! Many thanks in advance...
