Hi everybody,
I had only just bought my stilo 04 3dr 1.6 dynamic and one of the radiator hoses burst. I replaced the burst hose with an fiat part but that cost a mint. I think it would be wise to replace all the engine hoses in one hit with aftermarket ones. So does anybody know the inside diameter of the engine hoses?
Many Thanks
Antony

Cool, would be appreciated bit of a faff to take them all off just to measure them. If I remember correctly the rad hose was 32mm or 1 1/4 inch but the new one looked smaller.

Very unusual for Stilo radiator hoses to burst unless you have high presure in the cooling system. Check the expansion resevoir pressure release cap and/or for possible head gasket failure.

To release the hose clips from the radiator, just press the raised part of the hose locking clip and pull the hose off complete with its elbow. There's a special tool available to release and refit the engine hose clips, or some people just cut them off and replace with Jubilee type clips.

Yeah there was a big bit of gunk blocking up the vent on the cap of the expansion tank. When it burst I stopped soon after when noticed the temp gauge going up. After getting recovered I done a comp test and breather test, all clear, will keep an eye out for coolant and oil contamination. That rad elbow had seized on mine I tightened a jubilee clip on it and prized it off, the other clips I just cut off and replaced. I have to take the rad out to replace all the mounts and brackets so will have to remove the hoses anyway I will have easy access to the rest. But would rather order all the parts and do the job in one hit. Plus I can tart up engine bay at same time .
