General code readers

Hi ade02,
I think dave is right with his link there, I bought the 2 cables I needed from ebay and just ran the software in order to fix what I needed too,
I think code readers are okay but then you have to spend the time looking the code up,

just for reference I got a VAG COM cable and a KKL cable, to access the different ecu's :)
Just double check everything on daves link to FES,

ok so i take it you have to download onto a laptop and then get the cables for it to work i thought a code reader would be easier ???????

Multiscan is the way to go , more so if your doing own servicing, reset service interval, adding any options such as cruise control for proxy alignment and certainly much more detailed, best start is to get cables and install free version to get your connection with cables sorted then purchase licence for software, once you see it working you will appreciate what it has to offer..

I also have one of these in boot of car for quick useage if needed when on road but at home always use mutiscan software that does so much more and as said already saves looking up code numbers

a hand held scanner will only read genetic codes like lambda and missfire, MES ( formally FES) will do all your fiat codes airbag steering and so on, it will also give live data,
