The noise and vibration are there from start you can't go more than 40 mph,It goes away when turning right.I've got the ns,drive shaft off ,nothing obvious .there is slight play on inner joint, and the big nut didn't feel like 240 ft lbs. to get it off. There doesn't seem to be any play in the wheel bearing HELP!.If I can solve this I'm going to do the rear bushes argh

Hi,Thanks for your enquiry. The noise and vibration are only when you are moving.Being in or out of gear doesn't seem to make any difference. It seems as if something is really out of balance.I've looked on the forum it mentions a weight on the other longer shaft, gearbox mountings, diff. Anyway I forgot it's a JTD diesel estate 2003.Peter

sorry I've just bought it and the old owner hasn't been transparent .She told me the banging at the rear was shocks, but to be fair there is a french garage bill saying that's what it was.

I will fit the new short drive shaft when it comes and I'll get two two front wheels balanced on monday.mmmm whats wheel balance in french?

Thank you All,fabulous french translation,Does any one know exactly where the weight is on the longer drive shaft, and what does it look like Peter

It's not wheel balance.I took the two front tyres in one needed 10 and the other needed 15 The temperature in the tyre place was 45 degrees, and the mechanics were working in overalls, and not hot.Peter
