hurray, 4 weeks into ownership, and my first weridness has happened!!

mate at work just pointed out my passenger window was down. I dont have a remote, and i know for certain the window wasnt down when i left the car this morning.

anyway, pressing the button to make it go up, didnt seem to work. Eventually it did, then we wound it down and it did it again. Sounds to be engaging, but not going up, then it went up so I left it.

can anyone point me in the right direction, ii am open minded abotu the battery too as I htink i need to replace it, although i dont have nay other niggles whatsoever. Anything i can check? im pretty sure its electrical in some way as the window has gone up and down just fine.

actually, this may be relevent. For the first time today, i tried the "follow me" lights feature, 30 seconds.

is it feasable I have done this, then accidenmtally hit the down button on the window as i have climbed out, and this all together has affected my not so great battery, which in turn made it difficult to raise the window when i first tried earlier..?

cheers Phil, if it does it again, ill do that. I went back out at lunch time today, and ran my finger around the rubber glass guides etc, ran the engine a bit, and all is well-normal in fact.

I really suspect i drained the battery a bit, and that caused some issue, as this has never happened before running the Follow Me headlight function, and I certainly have a fast depleating battery. I have read that these cars are very sensitive, so im pointing my finger at the battery!!(y)

the windows and sunroof do work for a while after the ignition is off so yes you may have touched the window button getting out of the car. as soon as you open the door the power is cut to the windows etc.

the windows and sunroof do work for a while after ignition is off. however stop working immediatly as the doors are opened (unless there on the way down already). so its not possible to push the button on the way out, as you would need to do it before the door was opened and you would probably notice.... you didnt hold the key to lock or unlock did you? this will put them down.

nope, i dont have a remote fob that does this, i only have one key!

cars been fine though, i really do think its simply a poor battery, as opposed to some weird Fiat niggle...!

aye it was very special. I am quite chuffed tbh, because it didnt even bother me, i dunno how to describe it, I just felt that despite the window being down unexpectadly, all would be well....and it was/is!

Also, it helped me discover that if I have my skyroof sunblind open, it will close itself when i lock the door-all well and good, but i have also discovered that if i operate my skyroof once or twice without running the engine, i kill my battery-hence why i think the initial problem was a weak battery!!

its on my to-do list.......

i flippin love this car though...!!

I went to unlock my Stilo for the first time (actual lock, I don't have a fob) a couple days ago and it didn't unlock the doors and instead wound the window down. Confused the crap out of me. Tried again and opened no problem. I expected to have glitches, it is a Stilo afterall, but was quite surprised at that one.

ta daa!!

there u have it, i MUST have done this, as my locks are a bit stiff....

Couple of times i have managed to open the windows and sunroof using the remote key by pressing a button once somehow. I know about holding and pressing the remote but is have never been able to repeat whatever I have done again.
Tis a great party trick though.

Yeah...whenever I had mates in my car and had the windows down they're always like "what da ****?!" whenever I turn the ignition off and proceed to put the windows up with one touch AND open the door to get out, closing it behind me and walk away. They think it's some sort of electrical problem blaming "typical Fiat", but it's just a truely awesome feature of the Fiat Stilo :D
