Right this slight misfire is annoying as it fairly low down in the rev range, Between tick over and 2000 rpm. Its driving fairy OK once its up to speed.

There are no faults logged in the ecu's regarding anything and I'm thinking if an injector was going faulty it would surely log a fault.
So that leave's it being maybe a fuel supply issue, Would changing the fuel filter help to start with.
The back of the engine is also very oily and is there a known leaky area on these when they are high mileage. I know it's breathing heavy so guessing that doesn't help with leaks.

Can you test the injector like the older style ones, Slacken the nut off the injector to find out which one it is??

Does the 8v jtd have injector correction factors in fes, if so nice and easy to check balance across the 4 .
A leak back check also may help diagnose a partially blocked injector.

How often if ever do you use injector cleaner?
I use forte or bg244 at least once a year plus millers ds4 regularly.

I also tried a cheap boundary microphone and software(audacity I think)
Looked promising as diagnostic tool but was too sensitive and each injector was picking up sound of other injectors through pipe work or head.

Well it doesn't smoke like that at cold that's for sure. I know it was cold in that vid and a lot is steam or whatever its called.

I am thinking its an injector though.

I did have a look at settings in fes but I don't know what's what.

In the parameter section approx 1 page down is injector correction value 1,2,3,4 tick those and see if it reads anything.
Values of +\- 1.5 is what I see after start up within a minute or so, gradually dropping to +\- 0.9 or even less, anything like 3 under 2.0 and one 4.0- 5.0 is a giveaway.

A quick blip on throttle should see values drop as the revs increase.
Basically your watching the automatic on the fly adjustment the ecu is making to the injector to keep a constant crank acceleration on all 4 cylinders , comparing desired fuel to actual acceleration, I would see a +5 injecting not enough blocked nozzle maybe and -5 injecting too much worn nozzles.
It may not work on earlier jtd ?

I think it did work, I seem to remember ticking them box's but not really taking any notice.
I will check in the morning before i disasemble it and report back.

Thanks Sussex

No it didn't work on ecu scan. Just came up blank no readings at all.

But what I did do is unplug each injector and all bar no 2 stopped the engine, So I'm guessing No2 is the faulty one????????? Engine keeps running with no2 unplugged with not a lot of difference in rough running.

Ah right that's why they don't show then.

So do you think Im right with the inj problem though, Unplugging them until I found the one where it still ran with it unplugged.

Unplugging any injector would probabely cause the engine to stall so I'm not sure that would work. However, I don't think it would cause any harm so has to be worth a try ..

injector values on my 09 grande 1.9 mulijet are( 0.43 ),(298.10!!!!!!!!!)(0.01)(0.19) cars just had a service at main dealer on its 18,000mile service DO YOU THINK THEY MISSED SOMETHING!!!
