following the guide I removed my pollen filter, and then i thought hang on....ive never had a car with working air con, so have no idea what state a pollen filter should be in. Mine was sort of grey on the side facing me, and black-ish on the side that air passes from the front. I used my air line and blew it clean ish-plenty of black dust and bits of tree, also plenty of leafage came out the bottom of the filter housing....should I get a new filter, will it make a difference to air flow?

:)

Hi. Yes the air flow will be greatly improved without an old pollen filter; personally I don’t replace them just run without them.

Some people will say this can damage the heater, my last three cars all had the pollen filter’s removed and totalled 950,000 miles between them with no problem related to the filter.

depends if you want all that stuff you cleaned out of it blowing in your face through the heaters rather than caught in a filter...

but having one thats been blown out should be better than it was :)

my mk1 punto didnt have a pollen filter and i used to get loads of crap coming throught the vents, i ended up using a cloth and taped it to the bulkhead/scuttle where the air was fed from, i might just do this to my stilo too,
