hi all took my 1.6 stilo to the garden cent this morning. as the memsaab wanted some plants. drove grate there but when i started it to come home. on tick over it started to go up & down then the engine light came on & the car went in to limp mode. and would not go over 40 got home put the code reader on it and it came up with P1121. can any body help me with this please & point me in the right direction. ive cleared it and took it for a quick drive round the block seems ok now

P1121 = Throttle position potentiometer track 1

It could be an implausibility indication if you pressed the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal at the same time. If not, check the electrical connection at the accelerator pedal.

can any body tell me how to get at the plug for the accelerater pedaland all so if any accelerater pedaloff any stilo will fit and does it need any kind of relern :worship:

Connector pulls of the top of the pedal.

The electronic pedals are different for all engine versions.

Relearn is only required when fitting a new ECU or throttle body. (or cleaning the existing throttle body).

hi all again jost whent out to the car to start it to see if the oil light went out which it did but the engine light came on so pluged the scanner in and there was that p1121 code cleared it starded the car again and bank there it was again put my hand up round the pedal but still cannot find this plug any body got any piks or somthing to help me please :bang:

Sorry... I've never needed to access one so I don't know how you get at it. If you can get to the bolts that hold the pedal, possibly remove it to get to the connector?

Once the pedal is removed, you can test the resistance of the tracks with an ohmeter. (your fault code refers to track 1, but I've no idea which one that is, so you'd need to test both).

Just looked in eLEARN, but it doesn't say what the resistances should be. You'd be looking for a smooth, gradually increasing or decreasing resistance as you slowly moved the pedal. An old analogue meter with needle pointer would be better than a digital meter to show whether the increase/decrease was smooth.

If you have access to one, you could try a second hand pedal for test purposes, but the problem could be just the connector, or the wiring from the pedal to the ECU.

well i will just give you all a up date on this little problem it is going back to vickers here in sunny telford on tuesday for this up grade that they had problems doing on saterday so i think it might have somthing to do with them messing about with it. but i thought i might as well change this map senser for the new one i have. & do a relern for it which i am grate full for the forum telling how to do so i allso cleaned all the plugs on the ecu cleared all falts as it said and no p1121 ran it for long time and still no code but still going to blame them down at vickers in the mornning when i ring. so will let you know the out come.

just to give you all a up date on this code p1121 and throtle ecu up grade. Car went back to vickers today to do this ecu up grade and sort out this code that came up after there first attempt at it I had orready cleaned all the plugs to the ecu cleared the code and it never came back on while it was still on the drive when they checked it down there they said there was no code stored to which i had orready told them that i had cleared it then they told me that the ecu in my stilo would not take the up grade it was the wrong type of ecu. then they had checked all the thing that could set off code p1121 so its waitand see :eek:
