Just wondering because a friend of mine asked me this question the other day...

"What makes your car a sport?"

Therefore I'm wondering what upgrades/parts/changes does the "Active Sport" have over the other "Active"s and "Dynamics"???

My parents car for example is a GTC "Turbo" and so its faster and the suspension is the same as the performance VXR, as apposed to regular suspensions found on the normal models of the car.

Cheers guys, looking forward to any reply :)

Active (3dr, 5dr, MultiWagon) - 1.2 16v (1.4 16v from 2004), 1.6 16v, 1.9 JTD (80 or 115 bhp) - MultiWagon gets 1.6 16v or JTD 115bhp only
- Central Locking, Electric Windows, Trip Computer

Active Sport (3dr only) - 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v
- As above plus Alloys, Small Rear Spoiler

Active Aircon (3dr, 5dr, MultiWagon) - 1.4 16v, 1.6 16v, 1.9 JTD (possibly 1.2 16v) - MultiWagon gets 1.6 16v or JTD only
- As Active, plus Aircon (suprisingly).

Dynamic (3dr, 5dr, MultiWagon) - 1.6 16v, 1.8 16v, 1.9 JTD (only 115bhp?) - MultiWagon gets 1.6 16v or JTD 115bhp only
- As Active plus Body Coloured Door Handles, Aircon, Central Arm Rest, Alloys (3dr & MW. On 5dr from 2004, optional before), CD Player (usually).

Abarth (3dr, 5dr) - 2.4 20v
-
As Dynamic plus Climate Control, Connect Nav, Anthracite Alloys, Steering Wheel Controls, Unique Instrument Panel with Reconfigurable Display & White Dials.

The above indicates Standard Specification - some lower spec models may have items fitted as an option, such as Climate Control & Connect Nav on Dynamic's and Aircon on normal Active models.

I dunno much about Prestigio or Schumacher models but believe they're pretty much as Abarth 5dr (Prestigio) and Abarth 3dr (Schumacher), with 2.4 20v engine & similar equipment levels, but option of manual gearbox instead of Sellespeed Auto Transmission. Schumacher was a limited-run model with number displayed on unique plaque inside vehicle.

iirc dynamics and above have CDchangers also. but there are many optionals that are not on any of them lists.

also i think abarths all had rear parking sensors.

Dymanic 1.9 JTD 115 / 1.9 Mjet 120 Multiwagon have Climate, Cruise, MFSW, just like the Abarth.

my dynamic had a factory tape player (might of been changed by another owner) steel wheels, original top glove box, parking sensors

All dynamics after 2004 face lift have Climate I believe.

There were major changes to the range then. Before this dynamics only had manual AC and tape deck as standard, but sliding rear seats, parking sensors and ski tunnel etc.

The CD Changer was optional - a mate had one as an option on his 02 plate Dynamic 3dr but my 54 plate Dynamic 3dr doesn't have it. Think you're right about the parking sensors though - some early 5dr Dynamics (upto 52 plate-ish) had parking, rain & light sensors too, but these were phased out of the standard spec list quite quickly.

I'm guessing your Dynamic is 51, 02 or 52 plate? Some early Dynamic's only had tape players - i think the 5dr model was more likely to be found with these but some 3dr's had them too. As time went on the CD players became more common. Initially, steel wheels appear to have been standard on Dynamic 5dr models, whilst 3dr's got alloys. From the minor facelift around 53-04 plate, all Dynamic's gained alloys and (i think) CD players. As previously mentioned, parking sensors were standard on early 5dr Dynamics, optional later & then possibly standard again

This refers mainly to 5dr Dynamics. Climate control seems common on most 5dr Dynamics initially but definately became standard with the 2004 facelift. However, on 3dr Dynamics, A/C was standard throughout the Stilo's lifecycle with climate control optional, even after the 2004 model changes.

Sliding rear seats, parking sensors & ski tunnel must be on 5dr Dynamics but not 3dr, as my 54 plate 3dr Dynamic doesn't have any of them :( Parking sensor fitment to 5dr Dynamic seems somewhat hit & miss as mentioned before (post 2004 and 51, 02 & 52 plates seem to have them but 03 & 53 plates don't seem to).

As can be seen, the spec's changed quite abit, being initially generous, then less so & then being tweaked in 2004 (when the Fiat badges on the boot became round). Cruise Control became standard fit from 05 plate (on 3drs at least). 3dr Dynamics were badged Sporting from this point. There were further alterations in 2006 when the front grill changed & interior trim was altered, prior to the Stilo production ending. The last Stilo you'll find is on an 07 plate, though those after 55 plate are hard to find.

The best way to tell some models apart at a distance is:
*Black door handles - Active, Active Sport, Active Aircon
*Body-coloured door handles & steel wheels - Dynamic 5dr/MW (upto 2004)
*Body-coloured door handles & chrome alloys - Dynamic 3dr (from launch) & 5dr/MW (from 2004)
*Body-coloured door handles & anthracite alloys - Abarth 3 & 5dr

mine is a 52 dynamic, with aircon, tape deack, cdchanger, ski tunnel, spoiler, alloys, front seat trays. and ONE dynamic badge on only the right wing

ive replaced tape to connect nav, and removed cdc as it didnt work. no parking or rain wash/wipe though

Mine is a 56 plate 3dr special edition..mine doesn't have climate control or cruise control, but does have the bluetooth system and 17" alloys. Also has white dials and a few other tweeks. Seems like Fiat mix and match their options to how they are feeling lol!

Mine's an 04 JTD115 Multiwagon Dynamic...

It has cruise :), blades :D, climate :D, sky window :D, armrest (useless), had oem cd head unit but no changer. It has one tray table on the back of the passenger seat.
It doesn't have sliding rear seats  split rear tailgate (pointless) or multifunction steering wheel (not bothered, switched out stereo anyway).

Best feature is the fold flat passenger seat, so my little'un can sit in the back with the mrs and still see what's ahead on long journeys.

All it really is missing is a glass screen to shut off the noise from the rear passengers! Maybe I should buy a taxi!

Sliding rear seats, parking sensors & ski tunnel must be on 5dr Dynamics but not 3dr, as my 54 plate 3dr Dynamic doesn't have any of them :(

But yours is post 2004 change over!

Friend has a 1.6 2003 5-door Dynamic, Parking sensors, sliding rear seat, manual AC and tape player.

Her NS door mirror doesn't even do the auto dip thing when in reverse that the dynamics are suppose to do (n) :(

2005/55 115Bhp Dynamic MW

Standard 2005 Dynamic Trim including, Split Tailgate, MFSW, Climate, Cruise, Privacy Rear Glass, Bluetooth.

Post 2004 5door Dynamic's still got at least the ski tunnel & sliding seats though. That was my point - that the 3dr Dynamic got lower spec in some areas (ie no climate control, sliding seats or parking sensors) but higher in others (ie they always had alloys, even when some early 5dr Dynamics had steel wheel) (y)

Your friend's 1.6 Dynamic sounds typical of the slightly odd spec's offered - parking sensors & aircon but only a tape player, for example! It must be one of the last one's with parking sensors too (until after the facelift at least), as i've seen a number of Dynamic's on 03 & 53 plate without them.

My Dynamic doesn't automatically dip the NS mirror in reverse either - but not sure if that's a 5dr specific spec  The spec's are really quite confusing, they differ over model type as much (if not more) than the old Bravo/Brava/Marea.

i thought that was just me cos it had been in an accident... Who elses 3Dr dynamic has only 1 emblem?

My Dynamic 3dr only has one Dynamic badge, on the drivers side. I think most do. Think they might've stuck one on each wing on some of their models & then reverted to just one, possibly cost-cutting. It's like the Fiat International Security Register stickers - they used to have one on each front window, now it's just the passenger side

I've noticed some 3dr Dynamic's for sale with the ski hatch :bang: I think maybe mine doesn't have the ski hatch because it's got leather interior rather than because it's a 3dr - maybe some other owners with leather interior could confirm if they've got a ski hatch.

Similarly if owners of 3dr Dynamics on 04 plate or newer with cloth interior could confirm if they have a ski hatch, that'll clear up whether the ski hatch was deleted with leather interior or on all 3dr Dynamics when the model was facelifted in 2004.
